The IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association), headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, has many programs and services designed to assist bluegrass musicians and organizations in developing the bluegrass music genre. They range from providing assistance to needy individuals in time of crisis, developing professional standards for groups working within the bluegrass world, to developing educational tools to encourage young folks to become active in playing the music.
Once such program, is the IBMA "Bluegrass in the Schools" DVD, which was developed in 2003, complete with teaching aids and course outlines, to get young people involved at an early age. The TVBMA has, to date, supplied over 400 schools in Ontario with copies of this material, at no charge to the schools.
The TVBMA is proud to be an organizational member of the IBMA.
